• GORE-TEX® – Guaranteed weather protection, even in pouring rain and heavy snow: The CEVEDALE II GTX Ws is equipped with a GORE-TEX membrane. The innovative technology delivers optimal waterproof protection and breathability.
• 2-Zone-Lacing – Thanks to the two-zone lacing system used in the CEVEDALE II GTX Ws, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the shoe can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents.
• The CEVEDALE II GTX Ws is equipped with FLEXFIT-SYNCRO® technology. This involves an asymmetric upper design that enables the footwear’s upper to move “in sync” with the wearer’s lower leg. This feature significantly improves walking comfort – particularly on paths, trails or rough terrain. The technology focuses on a key aspect of walking: a person plants his or her foot not centrally under the hip, but slightly farther in the middle.
• CLOSE TO THE GROUND - People who venture across Alpine terrain face many challenges. Fields of loose rocks, rocky outcrops and rough terrain place the highest demands on footwear. For this reason, LOWA uses the technologies of CLOSE TO THE GROUND in the CEVEDALE II GTX Ws to create a good feel on the surface. The sole is designed in such a way that the distance to the ground is kept to a bare minimum. The height minimisation throughout the entire shoe creates a natural feel during challenging tours and provides stable footing on uneven terrain.
• Just pull tight and lock in place: To simplify the job of tying footwear, LOWA has developed a special type of fastening hook for the CEVEDALE II GTX Ws. Special feature: the system holds the laces in place in two different zones. Once the laces have been pulled tight in the lower area, they can be locked in place with the help of the fastening hook. Simply pressing the hook fastener upwards releases the locking action and the instep laces can be loosened.
• C4-Tongue – The specially designed tongue of the CEVEDALE II GTX Ws substantially enhances comfort. The tongue includes extra padding for the outer portion of the foot, and the upper end of it is especially soft. This asymmetric padding provides effectively coordinated support to many areas of the foot. To take into account the foot’s anatomy, the recesses for the ankle area have also been placed higher on the inside than on the outside, and a flexible bending insert has been integrated into the inner side by the foot.
• WOMEN LAST – To ensure perfect fit, the lasts used for CEVEDALE II GTX Ws have been specially designed with the anatomy of women’s feet in mind. The last plays a key role in the ultimate fit of a boot. Women’s feet have less volume than men’s feet. As a result, the instep height and the ball area of these lasts have been altered.
