Best possible protection for the smallest heads: that’s what the Ximo from Alpina provides. The children's helmet provides a multitude of detailed solutions, all geared towards one goal: maximum safety with maximum comfort. For a perfect fit, the Run System Classic Slide, which can be adapted to the head in three dimensions, ensures a high degree of comfort and protection. The low weight is due to the inmold production where the upper shell is thermally connected with the Hi-EPS. This results in a solid surface connection, which is responsible for a very sturdy design. In addition, the edges are finished with the polycarbonate Edge Protect shell. The outer shell is designed with exclusive Disney and Star Wars designs - just like the removable, washable inner padding. The air vents are strategically positioned to keep the sun’s rays away from the head while simultaneously ensuring excellent ventilation. The rear of the bicycle helmet is designed to be flat, increasing comfort when sitting in the child seat or trailer. The Multi-Fit Light, which can be retrofitted, ensures high visibility at dusk or at night.
• In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.
• All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.
• The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.
• Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that give inmold helmets a touch of refinement. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's durability.
• Proven a hundred thousand times over and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap on the way up the mountain and tighten it for downhill - and in a fall the locking mechanism cannot open automatically.
• A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixing of the two straps under the ear plays a decisive role. The Y-clip system ensures a millimetre-accurate adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
• One factor that greatly influences comfort when wearing is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the vents is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, guided around the head and can flow out again at the back. The head is therefore comfortably air-conditioned at all times.
• The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. The Run System Classic Slide was designed especially for children’s helmets. Children’s heads vary in shape and size far more than the heads of adults. The adjustment system ensures even greater customisation in fitting and a better fit with its extra free-gliding headband inside the helmet.
