The Carapax 2.0 from Alpina is at home on the trails. With this revised version of the successful model, you are always in the right when riding off-road. No matter whether riding uphill or downhill. It is an allrounder for off-roading and is one of the lightest Enduro models on the market. The Run System Ergo Flex ensures maximum comfort and safety. The adjustment system impresses with a filigree construction and fixes the helmet evenly in 360 degrees around the head. There is no more individual, easier and more comfortable way to adjust a cycle helmet. Another plus for comfort: the removable padding. It makes the helmet pleasant and comfortable to wear at all times – no matter how hot it gets on country trails. The Carapax 2.0’s low weight is down to the inmold production where the upper shell is thermally connected with the Hi-EPS. This results in a solid surface connection, which is responsible for a very sturdy design. The lower edge of the helmet is protected by the additional polycarbonate Edge Protect shell. Thanks to the seamless connection, it nestles seamlessly to the top shell. For the best possible safety on rough trails, the back and the temple sections can be pulled further down. This creates even greater head coverage. Large air vents allow for optimum ventilation, fly screens keep insects away from the head, and the shield guarantees optimum protection in the field of vision.
• The smooth-operating and soft to the touch Run System Ergo Flex guarantees the greatest possible level of comfort
• The lower edge protection Edge Protect clings seamlessly to the upper shell thanks to the seamless connection
• The height-adjustable visor guarantees optimal protection
• The rear and temple area are deeper to provide ideal protection in rough terrain
• Mesh in the front ventilation openings keep insects away from your head
• One factor that greatly influences comfort when wearing is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the vents is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, guided around the head and can flow out again at the back. The head is therefore comfortably air-conditioned at all times.
• All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.
• Custom Fit is an adjustment system at the back of the head that allows you to adjust the height of the Run System in several steps. This allows the optimal fit of the helmet to be adjusted for a wide variety of head shapes. Pressure marks are a thing of the past, the helmet sits perfectly on the head and safety is improved.
• Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that give inmold helmets a touch of refinement. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the helmet's durability.
• Proven a hundred thousand times over and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap on the way up the mountain and tighten it for downhill - and in a fall the locking mechanism cannot open automatically.
• The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.
• In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.
• The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. The Run System Ergo Flex is the lightest, most comfortable adjustment system offered by Alpina. The delicate design clings evenly to the head and thus increases protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted using fine increments – there’s no helmet more lightweight, more comfortable or with a more custom fit.
• A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixing of the two straps under the ear plays a decisive role. The Y-clip system ensures a millimetre-accurate adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
